Diner’s Agenda: Summer Noir

Diner’s Agenda can’t believe August is halfway over.

Wednesday, August 15
•Tonight’s 6:30 Pinot Noir tasting at the Park Place Legal Sea Foods is hosted by Master of Wine Sandy Block. We would really, really like to know how we can officially become a Master of Wine. Until we find out, we might just make our friends refer to us as such. Anyways, if you want to try a variety of summer Pinot Noirs (or is it Pinots Noirs?) and eat a five course meal, call (617) 530-9397 and pony up your $110. [Boston Herald]

Thursday, August 16
•We received a kind of amazing press release about the Fisherman’s Feast in the North End, which starts on Thursday and runs through Sunday. Did you know that the Fisherman’s Feast is sponsored by Sorrento Cheese? We do, because the press release mentions it no less than ten times (sample copy: “Entertainment begins at 9PM on the Sorrento Cheese Stage on North Street with the hilarious Sorrento Cheese Tower Building Competition for Charity”). The press release also contains this gem: “This year’s Angel is eight-year-old Jordyn Amoroso from Boston’s North End. She literally flies on wires suspended from two apartment balconies facing one another across North Street, meets the Madonna and recites a prayer to her in Sicilian.” We will literally be checking that out.
