Diner’s Agenda: Sunday, Hungry Sunday

Diner’s Agenda can’t believe it’s already Friday.

Friday, September 7
•It turns out that when we said last week that festival season was over, we were unintentionally lying to you. We’re sorry! This weekend is the Somerville Greek Festival taking place at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church. Things get underway this afternoon at 2:00 and carry on until Sunday at 9:00. The food selection sounds incredible: make sure not to miss the loucanico. [Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church]

Sunday, September 9
•Is your Sunday currently lacking in star chef power? Rectify the situation by signing up for Rialto’s “From Farm to Table” event with chef Jody Adams. For $125, you can accompany chef Adams to the Charles Square Farmers’ Market, learn how to prepare a feast with your purchases and then (and this, we feel, is the most important part) eat said feast. The whole thing gets underway at 11:00 and you can call (617) 661-5050 to save your spot. [Rialto]
•It seems to us that getting to register for housewares is probably one of the more awesome things about getting married (aside, of course, from the whole being madly in love thing). If you’re getting married (or just want to pretend you are so you have an excuse to look at housewares), head to the bridal registry at Bloomingdale’s at 11:00 for a demonstration of pots and pans and (here’s the great part) free brunch! To save your spot, call (617) 630-6044. [Bloomingdale’s]
•We’ve long maintained that we would never live in a suburb, but we’re a little obsessed with Concord nonetheless. It’s such a cute town and the houses are so pretty and there’s even a farm! Check out the farm part at least this weekend at the annual BBQ at Verrill Farms from noon to 4:00. There will be plenty of local and yummy foodstuffs and hayrides! What a lovely way to kick off fall! [Verrill Farms]
