Samia's Shuttered!
West Roxbury Middle Eastern spot Samia's has closed after fifteen years, reports the West Roxbury Transcript. The reason wasn't the economy for once, but simply that chef and owner Samia Saifan is tired. Samia's has consistently been one of Boston's best spots for Lebanese fare and everyone from Westie locals to Mayor Menino is bummed out about the closing. But don't get too sad: long time Samia's fan Hassan Kassab of Shawarma King has purchased the restaurant from Saifan and plans to open a new Middle Eastern restaurant in the space in June.
