Six Boston Bars Make Food & Wine’s Top 100

Craigie On Main, Drink, Eastern Standard, Green Street , Lobby, and RumBa have all made Food & Wine’s 2009 Best Bars list, which will appear in the magazine’s forthcoming softcover book Food & Wine Cocktails 2009. Boston tied with Seattle as the city with the fifth-largest number of bars on the list, bested only by New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New Orleans.

Drink and Craigie are, of course, practically required to be included in any national story about Boston’s eating or drinking scene, and Eastern Standard and Green Street are widely agreed to have some of the city’s best cocktails, but the inclusion of Lobby and RumBa is a little puzzling. Sure, Lobby’s great for a post-work cocktail and the champagne bar at RumBa is lovely, but two of the nation’s hundred best bars? Really? What do you think? Did Food & Wine get Boston’s best bars right?
