‘Urban Tavern’ Post 390 Sports an In-House Smoker, House-Made Root Beer

Post 390, the “urban tavern” from Harvest and Grill 23 owner Himmel Hospitality Group, has released sample menu items and, in the trend of fall, the focus is on high-end comfort food — think beer and bacon macaroni and cheese with a shallot crust and lamb chops with minted ratatouille. Chef Eric Brennan (formerly of Excelsior) is focusing on making everything from scratch: there’s a smoker in the kitchen to make the St. Louis ribs and the root beer is made in-house. Grub Street toured the (giant) space last week and the polished casual look meshes well with the mood, with tons of soft leather banquettes and gleaming black wood. Post 390 expects to open in early October. Check out the sample menu below.
