Sage Shutters to Make Way for New Susi Concept
Sage has closed to make way for a new restaurant from chef/owner Anthony Susi, spokesperson Nicole Kanner tells Grub Street. No further details about the new restaurant were available, but Susi previously announced plans to open a rustic trattoria at an unnamed location this fall. Could it be that, instead of a second location, the trattoria will open in the former Sage? If so, between Sage and Ginger Park (nee Banq), that's a lot of renovation for one small strip of Washington. Whatever happens, we hope the next incarnation of the space keeps Susi's killer spinach-ricotta polpetti on the menu.
