Pinkberry Sets Its Sights on Boston

Trend-setting fro-yo chain Pinkberry is expanding to Boston, reports Restaurants & Institutions. Pinkberry is almost singlehandedly responsible for the tart yogurt craze of the past few years and has spawned imitators nationwide, including Boston's own BerryLine and the now-defunct Yo! Berry. Last week, when Yo! Berry closed, we wondered if it signaled the beginning of a fro-yo backlash in the Hub, but Pinkberry's opening (combined with the forthcoming Fenway Red Mango) suggests that maybe it's just the end of an era for the knockoffs of big chains. Pinkberry spokesperson Michelle Lockheart tells us there haven't been any decisions on when or where in Boston Pinkberry will launch, so tell us: where would you like to see it?

  • I think Pinkberry should come to the north shore of Boston. North Reading has quite a few places for a store available. Please consider!

  • Who cares about Pinkberry when you have Red Mango opening soon?? Red Mango is healthier, less calories, tastes better and is cheaper... what idiot would choose otherwise? Yoberry closed because it had the lousiest hours, service. The fro-yo market hasnt even touched our market here in Boston and with players like Red Mango and Pinkberry, these mom and pop shops should be very careful!

  • Berry Freeze just opened in Coolidge Corner and it's amazing! Serve yourself and super inexpensive. Also, Chill is in Cleveland Circle. I do love Pinkberry, but feel like it should stay away from Boston to make room for the smaller businesses. Though I'm sure I'll visit a time or two if it's here... I can definitely see it on Newbury or somewhere downtown/Copley where there isn't really anything else.
