Fenway Cantina, a Tex-Mex spot from the folks behind Milton's 88 Wharf, will open at 1260 Boylston, reports Dishing. Peter Tartsinis' menu will focus on Mexican favorites like tamales alongside cheeseburgers and a selection of macs and cheese (no word yet on whether that list will include a lobster version). The beer selection will be extensive, with twenty on tap and fifty by the bottle. Mexican food and beer: just what you want before or after a baseball game. Maybe that's why La Verdad is already offering the same thing two blocks away. Sure, Fenway Cantina will have more of a Texan flavor, but can the micro-neighborhood handle two such similar spots?
