Daniel Pokaski May Not Have Aced His SAT Analogies

Boston Licensing Board chair Daniel Pokaski made a cringe-inducing statement during today’s hearing about Azama Grill’s late night license, reports Universal Hub. When Azama’s lawyer Stephen Greenbaum argued that the halal Allston kebab shop should be allowed to stay open late to serve the needs of Boston’s Muslim cab drivers, Pokaski responded that this could lead to a slippery slope of reasoning where a pizzeria asks for a late night license because “the Italians want to come in and they want a slice of pizza.” Yes, because religious dietary restrictions are exactly like foods stereotypically associated with a particular ethnic group!
