Phantom Gourmet Guy Wants to Lift Brunch Booze Ban

Dave Andelman, the man behind Phantom Gourmet, plans to file legislation to lift the ban on serving alcohol in restaurants before noon on Sundays, reports the Herald. Andelman’s proposed bill, which he plans to aggressively promote on his radio and television shows, would allow the booze to flow on Sundays beginning at 10 a.m. — a definite boon for the brunch bunch. State Senators Richard R. Tisei (R-Wakefield) Steven C. Panagiotakos (D-Lowell) will co-sponsor the bill, set to be filed tomorrow. Andelman hopes the bill will be passed by Independence Day, which means you could be enjoying an early-ish Sunday morning mimosa by summer.
