Northampton hibachi spot Osaka hopes to open an outpost at 14 Green Street in Coolidge Corner, reports Brookline Patch. Osaka, known to Smith College alumnae as the standard choice for large group dinners, offers hibachi favorites like steak, lobster, and vegetables alongside sushi, tempura, and teriyaki. At a recent presentation to the neighborhood, however, residents questioned owners Dingzhi Chen and Jianding Zheng fervently, complaining about everything from the proposed 11 p.m. weeknight closing time to valet parking. Chen and Zheng still need to win approval from Brookline’s planning board, board of selectmen, and board of appeals before they can start construction.
