Here at Grub Street, we love a good Manhattan … especially during the holidays, when after slaving over a hot stove all day, we want nothing more than to numb the senses with a potent libation. Can you relate? Dorchester’s Ashmont Grill has been kind enough to share their Manhattan recipe. Click through to replicate at home. (Oh, and don’t drink this all by yourself. This concoction will keep an entire party well-lubricated.)

1 cup dried black cherries

¼ cup whole black peppercorns

one bottle bourbon, any brand

Stir ingredients together in a glass jar with a cover.

Allow to rest in a cool, dark place for 5-7 days.

Drain solids from liquid using cheesecloth or a coffee filter.

Serve in a rocks glass over chipped ice.

If desired, garnish with a “lollipop” made of a dried cherry dipped in dark chocolate.
