Blaring Music, Untoward Behavior at Kitty O’Shea’s

An old-fashioned good time!

This is just too funny not to share: Apparently, State Street heathen den Kitty O’Shea’s is in trouble with the Boston Licensing Board for too many drunken shenanigans, Universal Hub reports. Brawls, smoking patrons, blaring music … it’s worse than a “Real Housewives of New Jersey” episode over there, apparently.

On September 26, a dance floor shoving match turned into a brawl that rendered one person unconscious. Patrons fled before police could question them. In August, a customer feuded with a bar manager after being scolded for dancing “too aggressively”; this ended with the aggressive dancer and the bar manager falling down a flight of stairs, while a woman involved smacked a doorman with her shoe. (No, we are not making this up.)

For his part, owner Kevin Loughney is switching DJs (who’s he hiring? A DARE officer?) and trying to curb dancing at his pub. Because dancing, as we all know, leads to debauchery.
