Wine, Galas, and Eight-Tracks Galore
Meats, cheeses, wine, and all the eight-track Barry Manilow tunes you can handle. No, it's not Prom Night 1975 ... it's Central Bottle + Wine's one-year anniversary.
To honor the milestone, the feisty-fun owners are throwing themselves a soiree beginning at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Stop in for tasty enoteca fare, wines by the flight and glass, and a preview of their new custom-label wine, a 2005 red blend called Mercuria. And, of course, plenty of retro tunes. "Our customers want to know if there will be karaoke," says co-owner Maureen Rubino. After a few glasses of wine, you see, anything's possible ...
Meanwhile, down the road in Sharon, TV Diner's annual Platinum Plate Gala kicks off at 7 p.m. tomorrow evening. This is your chance to drink, dine, and dance at the Herb Chambers Lexus Showroom. Participating restaurants include Hamersley's Bistro, Taranta, and Stephanie's on Newbury. Not sure if there'll be karaoke here, either, but we can dream.
