“It’s been said that a visit to Boston without visiting Locke-Ober is like going to Asia and ignoring the Taj Mahal.” Yes, so declares Locke-Ober’s Facebook page. And while we do have a bit of fun guffawing at their, ahem, capacity for self-promotion, we have to give a bit of respect to a place that’s been around, through good times and bad, since the mid-1800s. Which is why you should know that they’re going to be open for lunch today through December 24. The 135th anniversary, limited-time-only menu includes enticements like turnip soup, Singapore lobster curry, and calf’s liver with bacon and onions. (The finest calf’s liver in all the land!)
