Prepare to wait even longer for a table at Island Creek Oyster Bar. The New York Times gave Kenmore’s bustling bivalvery a glowing report over the weekend, noting the restaurant’s commendable attention to flavor composition and ingredient sourcing.

Yes, the secret’s out. The oysters’ “gentle upbringing” and “sweet ocean taste” is a matter of record. So too are the merits of ICOB’s steamed Duxbury littlenecks, which offer a “pleasingly firm texture.”

We’re happy for ICOB and all, but we’re already envisioning herds of Yankees fans descending on Kenmore Square before baseball games, shoving oysters down their gullets like no tomorrow. Go Sox!
