We just received word that Radius chef Michael Schlow's new venture, Tico, is on target to open in late February. The restaurant will feature dishes influenced by his Spanish, Mexican, and Latin American travels and, per his rep, promises flavor profiles "unlike anything Boston has tasted before." More info ahead.

Joshua Smith, formerly of Boston's Four Seasons, is going to helm the kitchen. At dinner, you'll find shareable choices like fried manchego with spicy honey sauce and mussels with almond milk; lunch focuses on larger plates. Fine. Mainly, though, we're intrigued by the design: An outdoor courtyard with a fireplace speaks to us, deeply.

As we told you earlier, Tico takes over the former Cottonwood Cafe space at 222 Berkeley Street. More info has we have it.
