In the South End, Does Restaurant Death Come in Threes?

It's a cruel winter for Bombay Club.

Ginger Park’s gone. So’s Rocca. And now the South End Patch reports that Bombay Club, which replaced Pho Republique on Washington Street, has closed. Previously, the restaurant was located in Harvard Square. Looks like they couldn’t make a go of the space, which according to reports was frequently empty. A sign on the restaurant’s window says they’ll close for just three weeks due to the “severe winter” (what, no blizzard food deals?), but sources say it’s gone for good. We’ve called the restaurant numerous times and gotten no answer, never a promising sign. Do you think other South End spots are headed for disaster? Isn’t there something Barbara Lynch can do?
