Cupcakes really are the trend that just won’t die. Even a punk legend like Patti Smith is susceptible to their charms! Last night, Smith visited Jamaica Plain’s Monumental Cupcakes to sign copies of her award-winning new book, Just Kids. She was in town to lecture at the Museum of Fine Arts and told the Jamaica Plain Patch that she had to stop in JP “for the cupcakes,” many of which were frosted green for St. Patrick’s Day. Well, work was involved, too. An exhibit of her photography, “Photos by Patti Smith,” will be on display at Monumental Cupcakes at JP Art Market throughout March. Smith is friends with the shop’s owner, Patti Hudson. [Patch]
