Locke-Ober Hopes to Reopen Early Next Week With New Exec Chef

Lina Giangregorio, Locke-Ober’s director of private events, tells Grub Street not to believe news that the restaurant has shuttered indefinitely. They’re hoping to reopen early next week with Executive Chef Ted Gidley, who did time at the restaurant in the 1990s, at the helm. He worked with new L-O owner David Ray in the past, and they’ve brought him back from Newport’s Clarke Cooke House, also owned by Ray. “Lydia Shire is not working with Locke-Ober at this time,” Giangregorio tells Grub Street. “But that’s not to say she won’t be back in the future.”
