Methuen’s beloved Middle Eastern hangout went up in flames on Christmas Day 2010 after 20 years in business, and now the Eagle-Tribune reports that the Shadi’s site will be razed. The landmark lounge and restaurant was popular with politicians and other local notables. Thankfully, all is not lost; a new Shadi’s will replace North Andover’s Cedar Crest restaurant in the coming months. [E-T]
