It’s sometimes depressing to track the soap opera that is the life of Todd English, and so we’re pleased to note some happy news: Olives is on track to reopen! (We think.) Charlestown’s Patch reports that English plans to reopen his fire-damaged flagship over Labor Day weekend. According to a letter submitted to the city licensing board, English says that “I want to express that I am 100 percent committed to reopening the original Olives in its home in Charlestown, for which the community and I have a deep fondness.” Apparently he’s making progress on reconstruction, as another hearing to monitor the situation was canceled yesterday.
