South Street Diner to Star in 24-Hour Documentary

Strippers, suits, the severely hungover — the Leather District’s South Street Diner has seen it all since opening in 1947. The round-the-clock repository for the ravenous and the damned will be the subject of a documentary called 24 Hours At The South Street Diner, brainchild of local filmmakers Melissa and Tom Dowler of Long Haul Films. They’ll spend 24 hours at the diner from July 22 to July 23, interviewing hungry twenty-somethings, wizened staffers, and other creatures of the late night, early morning, and mid-afternoon. They’re currently raising money for the movie; go here to learn more and donate. (Hey, you might win a prize!)
