It’s almost time for the third annual Ice Cream Showdown. The lick-a-thon happens on September 11, and tickets go on sale this afternoon. But that’s not at all!
The showdown happens from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on the docks of Community Boating in Cambridge, on the scenic shores of the Charles. Proceeds benefit Community Servings and Lovin’ Spoonfuls. Where to Eat overlord Aaron Cohen, who’s organizing the event, tells Grub Street that almost $10,000 has been raised for each charity so far this year; hopefully hordes of socially minded slurpers will push both spots over the top.
Dairy denizens scheduled to participate include Picco, the Chilly Cow, Toscanini’s, Batch, Christina’s, Giovanno Gelato e Sorbet, and Coop’s. Yum!
