Masa, Quite Logically, Brings Back Fiesta Brunch

We hear that Masa will reinstate their staple Fiesta Brunch beginning this weekend, for a mere $7.95. We can’t believe the South End spot ever did away with their frugal fiesta in the first place, actually, since people loved it. Not that their dinner and tapas deals aren’t perfectly fine, but in a neighborhood rife with evening options (and rather short on cheap-o brunch ones), well, why not do what you’re known for? Gotta say: This deal is awesome.

Less than eight bucks will entitle us to stuff our gullets with cornbread ‘n spreads, a starter, hefty delicacies like Southwestern Eggs Benedict (love the day-long after-burn inflected by their green chili hollandaise!), home fries, and on and on, plus coffee or tea. Not too shabby.

Of course, jadedly, we always panic a bit when a restaurant runs an unbelievable deal. Is Masa reviving a dirt-cheap brunch because things aren’t going well later on in the day? But for the sake of our inevitable hangover, and due to our abiding love of their huevos rancheros, well, we’re going to err on the side of optimism for now and hope they’re just being generous. Fiesta Brunch happens on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (a traditional, non-Fiesta brunch runs ‘ti 3 p.m.).
