Dine Out to Raise Money for Boston’s Year-Round Public Market

Almost as good as Market Basket.
Almost as good as Market Basket.

Feeling generous? Really really want downtown Boston to get a year-round public market (hopefully one that’ll look like the lovely rendering above)? If so, buy tickets for a Boston Public Market Harvest Dinner on November 10! The price isn’t cheap, but the potential rewards are great.

Tables cost $2500. Gulp. That said, each table seats 10. So find nine friends and scare up $250 (or just sidle up to one wealthy pal who’s willing to treat everyone to a lovely dinner party).

Then reserve a ten-top at your choice of eatery: Area Four, Ashmont Grill, Coppa, Dante, Davios, Eastern Standard, Erbaluce, Fairmont Battery Wharf (Aragosta Bar and Bistro), Hamersley’s, Island Creek Oyster Bar , Lineage, Lumiere, Oleana, Rialto, Russell House Tavern, Sam’s, Sel de la Terre, Taranta, Tavolo, The Butcher Shop, Union, or Upstairs on the Square.

Wine pairings are included, but that’s not all: Each restaurant will feature a specialty cocktail designed for your table with spirits from Boston’s very own Bully Boy Distillers.

Dinner at each restaurant begins at 7 p.m. Call 617-510-3796 or e-mail harvestdinnerparties@bostonpublicmarket.org.
