Sandrine’s Turns 15

The Ost with the most.
The Ost with the most.

Restaurants come and go, especially in Harvard Square, but humble little Alsatian bistro Sandrine’s has been in business for 15 years. Jovial chef Raymond Ost plans to celebrate in fitting fashion: with new menu items and an enormous King cake.

Ost honors the milestone with a few new plates. Stop by and try smoked trout with horeradish cream and salmon roe, rabbit leg with egg noodles and lardon, a grilled veal t-bone with spaetzle and fall vegetable gratin, or perhaps a lovely Assiette de Canard with hen-of-the-woods risotto and apricot-gerwurtztraminer reduction.

Still more exciting to us, though, is the arrival of their 12-inch, frangipane-riddled, favor-bearing King cakes. They go for $45 a pop beginning November 15, so plan ahead.

Bon anniversaire, Sandrine’s!
