Soup Rescue

In Which We Help Adele Recover from Vocal Cord Surgery With Soup

Get well soon, Adele.
Get well soon, Adele.

As our pals over at Vulture noted, Adele will undergo throat surgery to repair damaged vocal cords. In fact, the deed will be done right here in Boston. So it seems only right that Grub Street Boston should suggest a few soup spots to help heal her ailing voice. If you spy Adele at any of these locations, well, you know who to thank!

Gourmet Dumpling House, Chinatown: We’re partial to the pork chop noodle soup here, but if Adele’s feeling up to it, she might opt for their very good pig’s feet soup instead.

Blue Inc, Greenway: Jason Santos makes a luscious pumpkin bisque with fennel puree, black garlic, and porcini tortelloni; Adele will feel right at home slurping beneath the enormous portrait of Twiggy that hangs in the dining room.

Strip T’s, Watertown: We love this slightly out of the way place, where rumor has it the chef once worked for David Chang. Adele can dine on an amazing tortilla soup with sour cream and avocado in blissful anonymity.

Bistro du Midi, Back Bay: For a slightly higher-profile meal, Adele can gaze at the Public Garden while sipping Robert Sisca’s sweet corn soup, with ricotta gnocchi, chanterelles, and thyme.

Rod Dee, Porter Square: The hot ‘n sour soup at this Thai favorite will soothe her throat and clear out her sinuses.

Angela’s, East Boston: The pozole here is extraordinary; plus, it’s close to the airport, in case she needs to make a quick getaway.

Xinh Xinh, Chinatown: Best pho in the city.
