A few days ago we mentioned that the Financial District’s Revolution Rock Bar will be replaced by a new watering hole, called Julep. Now we have details about the spot, scheduled to open in early December.

The group behind Petit Robert Central, Blue Inc., McGreevy’s 3rd Base Saloon, The Whiskey Republic and Lola’s Tequila Bar & Cantina are involved; we’re told that Blue Inc.’s culinary team has collaborated on menu items like buffalo duck drumettes with Roquefort cheese, Creole calamari with Bloody Mary sauce, and foie gras gravy cheese fries. The signature drink, logically enough, is a mint julep. Grub Street hears that Trish LaCount, bar manager at Blue, will oversee the development of Julep’s cocktail program.

Revolution’s replacement will cater to a “corporate clientele” (and clearly those who don’t need to worry about their cholesterol levels). It was renovated by HGTV and Food Network designer Taniya Nayak; expect a “wide open floor plan” doubtlessly designed for maximum schmoozability. It’ll be located at 200 High Street. We’ll keep you posted about a specific opening date.
