Ramen Wars

Thank God for Ken Oringer’s Ramen, Since You’ll Never Get Into Guchi’s

Better luck next time.
Better luck next time.

Noodle-lovers are smarting after tickets for Guchi’s Midnight Ramen’s pop-up at Sportello on February 13 sold out within minutes on Friday. Enraged customers vented their frustrations on Twitter and on the pop-up’s Facebook page. Grub Street even received a few emails from miffed patrons complaining about the ticket process. (Sorry, guys, even we can’t help you.)

Exclaimed one ramen-deprived soul: “I squandered my entire afternoon waiting around for this just to find out there were no tickets 38 secs after being posted. All they did was succeed in making a lot of people really torqued off!”

“Seriously… This sucks. I feel like I’ve been taunted for the last few weeks by something I can’t get a chance into!” lamented another.

“I’ll write you a better ticket selling system if I get first dibs on the next batch,” offered a more helpful patron.

They claim that yet another pop-up will happen in two weeks, so those who haven’t been completely jaded by a process that’s about as tough as scoring tickets to Bruce Springsteen can try their luck again.

In the meantime, well: At least Ken Oringer’s now doing ramen at Uni!
