This Saturday, June 2, Manhattan’s popular Hester Street Fair sets up shop with a lineup that could make Hollywood Boulevard look a little like Brooklyn’s recent Great Googa Mooga. We have the first look at which local and imported vendors are going to help run the show on Saturday at the “Bite Size Food and Craft Festival,” the first of four events planned in a summer series. LudoTruck will set up with the French chef in tow, slinging fried chicken from his food truck, while David Reiss’ Reissco** (Sunny Spot, A-Frame, The Brig, Alibi Room) Roy Choi’s A-Frame will take over beer garden duties, pouring craft draft and concocting a few cocktails, including a punch named for the event itself. Who else will be there on Saturday?
Other prominent locals include Damien Windsor’s Ice ice Shavi, Heirloom LA, Coolhaus, Lomo Arigato, plus workshops and talks on food preserving curated by historian/forager Emily Ho, and chem-free flowers and plants offered from Silver Lake Farms.
Coming from New York will be Babycakes vegan bakery, which Angelenos know from its two city branches, and Brooklyn import Anderson’s 1949, which features the cooking of L’Ecole veteran and South Bronx farmer Sherry Grimes. Another Kings County voyager will be represented at Purple Yam, which embraces Asian eats like goat curry, fresh lumpia, dumplings, and spring rolls.
The free-to-enter festival kicks off at 11:00 A.M. this Saturday, June 2, and ends at 7:00 P.M. The current list of Saturday’s vendors can be found below.

**We earlier reported that A-Frame would be directly involved in running the event’s beer garden, as told to us by event organizers. This story has been corrected to reflect that REISSCO, the operators of A-Frame, will actually be behind the beer garden.
