Kingfish Hall’s Reign Has Ended in Faneuil Hall

They’re closed! They’re open! They’re “closed for the season”! They’re actually a food cart roaming the streets of West Roxbury! Much speculation has swirled around the fate of Todd English’s Kingfish Hall (his Olives has, at long last, reopened today in Charlestown); now comes the news that it’s closed for good, despite publicists’ earlier claims to the contrary.

“There’s a new landlord, and I’m trying to renegotiate, but it’s probably not going to happen,” he told the Globe. “I’ll probably just move on from there and look for something else down the road. Right now I want to focus on Olives anyway. Things have to change. Twelve years in Faneuil Hall, that’s a good run for a restaurant.”

Sooo…pretty much sounds like a “no.” He was also quoted in the article as saying that multi-course meals are passe and that people favor bar snacks. Does this mean that his new endeavor down the road could be that beer garden in Faneuil Hall?
