Back in May when Morgan’s Pier first opened, we told you that consulting chef David Katz (of Meme fame) had some cool things in the works for the summer, namely a cookout series with some of the city’s brightest culinary stars. Now we have word on how and when the guest chef evenings will play out. Terence Feury is first on Tuesday, July 24, and if all goes according to plan, he and Katz will cook a whole pig on the Pier’s deck. After that comes Top Chef champ Kevin Sbraga on Tuesday, August 21. He’s supposed to bring the fixin’s for a Brazilian barbecue. And on Monday, September 10, Katz will be joined by Michael Solomonov for an Israeli-inspired affair.

In addition to the guest chef series, Morgan’s Pier also just launched themed food nights, where Katz and the kitchen crew kick out dishes to compliment the grooves spun by the riverfront bar and restaurant’s resident DJs. Monday’s now have jerk chicken legs, sweet plantains, potato roll, and fries to coincide with Jamaican Soul with Bloodfaceman & Browner Jeff. Tuesday feature peel and eat shrimp with corn on the cob, and cocktail sauce to go with Club Paradise with Dirty South Joe. And for Wednesday nights with the Rocktits DJs, the Pier will serve baby back ribs with cornbread, honey butter, and cole slaw.
