Deep Ellum Wants Later Hours; 1500 Allstonians Agree

A shining beacon of hope.

Today, the Boston Licensing Board decides whether to let Allston's Deep Ellum serve until 2 a.m. Universal Hub sums it up nicely: "People who work late in the area deserve a place to go and relax that doesn't involve either pizza or bros with beers ogling sporting events on TVs. Deep Ellum has TVs, but they only show old movies, westerns and stuff like Woody Allen."

About 1,500 Allstonians signed a petition supporting the hours. "There aren't any places that serve food this good that late," the board was told. We agree. Does this mean late-night hours for Lone Star Taco Bar, too? Stay tuned, and stay hopeful. [UH]
