Maine-based lobster truck Luke's Lobster, which has locations in New York City and Washington, D.C., makes its Boston debut this weekend at the Head of the Charles regatta. Luke's lobster rolls have minimal mayo and a drizzle of lemon butter; they pride themselves on non-goopiness. Suck 'em down along with shrimp rolls, crab rolls, and Hurricane's clam chowder. Luke Holden, the son of a real live lobsterman, is a Maine native who got tired of "mayo-drenched" lobster rolls while in New York. His business partner, Ben Coniff, is a former writer for Playboy.
Expect lots of claws and knuckles and probably very long lines. A Luke's rep says that they "hope to be in Boston someday" on a permanent basis, so maybe they're testing the waters at the regatta.
