We're not sure whether to be charmed by the sentiment or horrified that this has to exist: Jackson, Mississippi, restaurants are offering meal discounts to diners who eat with people of different races. Enlightened souls receive 22 percent off their meals at various places this week as part of a "Two & Two Together Restaurant Days" promotion sponsored by Mission Mississippi, a group that promotes race relations. "It's the chance to get out of yourself and see reality in another way," enthuses one restaurant owner. Because as Martin Luther King Jr. might have said, there's one universal truth: Everyone loves a deal! [Clarion Ledger]
