How embarrassing: A perturbed BU parent notified police that his daughter rang up a $2,800 bar tab at Splash, leading to the nightclub's shutter. It all went down at a shindig called "Saturday Afternoon Recess Party." Apparently, the nightclub staff offered unlimited bottle service to partiers, so it's totally their fault. Parents can be so humiliating.
Further complicating matters, partygoers flashed fake IDs to cops. (We're impressed by the enterprising fellow who offered up a fake Venezuelan driver’s license.) According to Boston.com, Splash has been shut down a lot lately for serving minors and for overcrowding. Meanwhile, we're sure that the underage girl is totally going to work off her debt with an on-campus job. [Globe]
