According to the Boston Business Journal, "Equal measures of love, patience and compromise are the recipe for the 30-year business partnership of Mary Catherine Deibel and Deborah Hughes, co-owners of the Harvard Square eatery UpStairs on the Square." And their corporate marriage has lasted longer than many real-life ones.
The duo's first endeavor, of course, was the late lamented Upstairs at the Pudding. Apparently sometimes all it takes to endure are complementary skill sets, a shared vision, and a mutual passion for hot pink and zebra prints. If only finding true love were so easy.
