With all the excitement in the run-up to Thanksgiving and the Vetri v. Garces Turkey Bowl, we totally snoozed on District 611’s opening. It’s the pizza-plus operation that we mentioned a few weeks ago was being brought to life across the Delaware in Riverton, N.J. by a bunch of former Starr fleet crew members. Just as promised, it opened on November 17. The Inky today says that it’s now chugging along full speed, serving lunch and dinner on weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. It’s open Saturdays from 5 to 11 p.m., and Sundays 4 to 8 p.m. The BYOB specializes in wood-fired oven pizzas, but also offers such culinary creations as banh mi spring rolls, steak frites, and a custom blended beef cheek, short rib, and dry-aged strip burger.
