Lam's Slammed With Rent Hike; Will Close

Very sad: The Newton TAB says that reliably tasty Thai eatery Lam's in Newtonville will shutter on Saturday after being in business for 12 years. Kevin Lam says he's shutting down due to a hefty rent increase and that he's worried about his loyal customers, many of whom show up weekly just to chat.

The walk-on probably won't help convince people he's really trying to improve the food and neon-blue drinks at Guy's American Kitchen & Bar, but the tourists in the audience look like they're way into it.
