We didn't have W in our 2012 death pool, yet their Facebook page is gone, their Twitter handle is no more, and Adam's Hospitality reports that the subterranean club-lounge at the W is "closed in mid-December for what the hotel is [diplomatically?] calling a 're-invigoration.'"
Descent opened just a year ago with mixology guidance provided by Milk & Honey's Sasha Petraske; plans are unclear for 2013. Fortunately, Market by Jean-Georges lives on.
