When they announced a year ago that they were closing their small but ambitious restaurant eVe on University Avenue, Berkeley chefs (and Chicago transplants) Chris and Veronica Laramie said that they had a bigger project in the works with some investors already on board. Since then, they’ve turned the eVe space into the popular Peruvian-style rotisserie Brasa, and Veronica’s become pregnant with her first child, so she tells us that the bigger restaurant has been put on the back burner for now — probably for another year.
