Is Groupon Use a Cry for Help?

SOS?

SOS?

The debate rages on, and now Boston Chowhounds have launched a thread to post deals from possibly doomed restaurants. First on the list, courtesy writer MC Slim JB, is Sandrine's, the quiet little French spot in Harvard Square. They're offering a $50-for-$25 Groupon deal. Maybe they're just being...nice? Slim notes that the new Vejigantes in the South End has offered similar deals, and they're not hurting for business. However, over on Living Social, woe-addled Diva is hocking $10-for-$5 takeout. What does it all mean? We'll err on the side of "probably not usually a good thing." [Chowhound, EB]
