The French restaurant rumored to be coming to Fort Point now has a name: Bastille Kitchen. A rep tells Grub Street that the 240-seat, 8,500 square foot French bistro is slated to open at 49 Melcher Street in September. Mistral's Mark Goldberg, most recently of the very excellent Park in Harvard Square, will head up the kitchen. Says restaurateur Greenberg: "Bastille Kitchen will be the destination dining anchor to Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood that Pastis is to New York’s Meatpacking District." Ambitious indeed!
As for Goldberg, he says that almost everything will be local, except the cheese, which will absolutely come from France. Stay tuned for more details.
