The busy DiBiccari brothers officially debut Tavern Road today at 343 Congress St. in Fort Point. Per a release, "Each week, Tavern Road spotlights a locally-raised whole animal and features entrees and appetizers that utilize every part of the chosen suspect." (Louis DiBiccari has a particular affinity for porchetta.) Also cool: TR Street Food, a fast-casual and (price-conscious!) takeout spot that will open in March, adjacent to the main dining room, with a global bent.
Urban Daddy has the full menu right here, so check it out. As we noted earlier, the decor is quite dramatic; DiBiccari's uncle Adio was a sculptor here in town (he designed the Northeastern Husky mascot) and had a studio on, alas, Tavern Road near the MFA.
It's a nice idea to have an art-focused restaurant in a neighborhood that actually started out as an artists' colony, isn't it? As one of our recent commenters said: "As one of the local artists, it would be nice to be able to afford a local restaurant!" (Yeah, Menton doesn't quite fit the bill.) Everything appears to be less than $20, so maybe there's hope!
