It's been a Schlow-y day here at Grub Street. First we brought you news of Michael Schlow's new Barrio Cantino. Now, relaxing at the end of a long day, we read the Improper piece on Ken Oringer, complete with news of his New York Toro opening date. Nestled within the piece is this tidbit: People in D.C. just love Tico!

The Improper says Chef Schlow is "eyeballing" the District: “Boston is my home, but there are other places where the concept does well,” he says. “Developers definitely like Tico, and D.C. would be the place most interested." Could Washington handle more Latin American small plates? Jose Andres, watch your back. [Improper, Earlier]
