Top Chef winner Kristen Kish spent two years toiling under Barbara Lynch at Stir, Lynch's private demo restaurant and classroom in Boston's South End. As only seems fair, she's now headed to more glamorous surroundings. A rep for Lynch tells us that Kish has been named chef de cuisine at Menton, the ever-so-swank destination restaurant across town, which Lynch opened to raised eyebrows (and later, rave reviews) in the midst of the recession.
Kish has some Top Chef obligations to address first — like a cheftestant celebrity cruise, which sounds ... well, let's just move on — but she'll return home and take over the kitchen in June.
Lynch, not one to mince words, says: "She is an exceptionally gifted chef with amazing heart, integrity, and an incredible understanding of what it takes to create beautiful and delicious dishes."
