Yesterday it became absolutely clear that Pastis, Keith McNally’s storied brasserie in the Meatpacking District, will not reopen in its old home, which is apparently turning into a monolithic Restoration Hardware. The restaurateur had intimated he was scouring other neighborhoods to find an appropriate one to build out Pastis 2.0, and today he says Pastis will in fact reopen in the same general vicinity, around the corner on Gansevoort Street. McNally, who is also expected to open a new project at the refurbished Beekman next year, even tells the WSJ. he’s got a somewhat-specific reopening date of September 2016 in mind. [WSJ, Related]
